The Intellectual Arsenal

Friday, July 9th, 2010

There is perhaps no greater weapon to parry the bludgeon of dull-minded opinion than a well-honed Occam’s Razor.

You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby

Belief in astrology is the equivalent of believing earthworms form from raindrops.

Workers of the World! Unite!

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Happy May Day! While the rest of the world commemorates, through International Workers’ Day, the courage and sacrifice of the American workers who struggled to advance labor rights, we dance around the maypole or more likely ignore it all together. Riches And Relativity

Friday, April 9th, 2010

There are two ways to increase wealth. One is to amass a fortune. The other is to devalue the wealth of others. What happens when you inject energy into a turbulent system? Increased turbulence until a new equilibrium state is reached.

Market Capitalization of Memory

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

OU beat Texas today in a game dedicated to much-beloved Wayman Tisdale. Which means we had to endure Toby Keith’s song dedicated to his memory. If anyone other than charity is making a single penny off that song, he is violating his musician’s Hippocratic oath. “My alleged ‘best friend’ died; here, buy my product.”

Rolling In His Grave

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

The Clash playing in commercials? “Police on My Back” used for a cop show? Who is the dirty, dirty slut that keeps selling the rights? Mick Jones, is that you? Joe Strummer would have never allowed it. Shameful!

Pickle Pie

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Peace is made with guns like apple pie is made with pickles.
