We visited an Asian grocery in North Miami Beach on Tuesday. They were stocked up with moon cakes for the coming Chinese Moon Festival on October 3rd. Moon cakes come in a lot of varieties and are delicious. These particular cakes are red bean paste and duck egg yolk. Midge brought a bunch back from Taiwan several years ago and I’ve been craving them ever since.

Heaven moved closer to Earth: Tijuana Flats, the excellent Mexican restaurant, now has a location within five miles of our house. On the downside, the “megajuana” refried bean chimichanga, guacamole, queso and chips I just ate may have ripped something internally.
